The Wave

T   A few days ago the Scottish Government published Production of a Time Series of Scotland's Ecological and Greenhouse Gas Footprints, It makes depressing reading with emissions rising steeply in the travels sector and little sign of reduction elsewhere.  Something has to change and we can help make that happen by convincing the politicians about to meet in Copenhagen that we care and change can happen..

On Saturday 5 December 2009, ahead of the crucial UN climate summit in Copenhagen, thousands of people from across Scotland, from all walks of life, will flow through the streets of Glasgow to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all. The Wave is organised by Stop Climate Chaos Scotland.

Join The Wave - Scotland’s biggest ever demonstration in support of action on climate change.
We want the UK Government to Share Scotland’s Ambition, Protect the Poorest and Act Fair & Fast.

  1. The Wave.
For climate changes. Against unnecessary emission from travel.
Yet all this is in Glasgow, and how will we get there, well there's the answer, TRAVEL.
What would be better is the same demonstration held at the same time in every major city in the world. NO TRAVEL needed, helping the Environment.
This now if organised correctly would get this noticed, This is a good cause, a worthwhile cause, but like the climate talks in Copenhagen where no doubt each member taking part will arrange there own in some cases private travel, again causing emission to rise. We do have video conferencing. To me seems to be another excuse to wine dine and have a laugh at the little peoples efforts to make a difference.
The people who lead this march and organise it, please show the government you can do what they cannot, organise local marches (hundreds if possible) and make the difference without producing extra emissions.
